Description

With the third and final volume of the new Perahia Urtext Edition, all of Ludwig van Beethoven’s piano sonatas are now available in the collaborative edition by maestro Murray Perahia and G. Henle Publishers’ acknowledged Beethoven expert Norbert Gertsch. The volume contains the ten Sonatas nos. 23 to 32, op. 57–111, composed between 1804 and 1822, including such famous works as the “Appassionata” and the “Hammerklavier Sonata”, and naturally opus 101 and the late triad, op. 109–111.
All the sonatas have been edited in accordance with the latest research and are provided with a detailed preface and a critical report outlining the source situation and editorial issues. In addition to his highly valuable fingerings, Murray Perahia also gives us more in-depth reflections on the emotional world and structural design of some of these works in this Urtext edition.
