Lessons
Calliope Music offers students an exciting musical education at every skill level while encouraging a love and appreciation of many musical styles, from Bach to The Beatles. Lessons are fun but also challenging. Our goal is to create a strong musical foundation for a lifetime of independent musical enjoyment.
Instrument Rental
Calliope Music partners with Menchey Music Services, a family-run company out of Hanover, PA, to provide high quality instrument rentals. Calliope stocks various sizes of string instruments as well as plenty of brass, woodwind, and percussion. We offer a rent-to-own program, and some investments may be applied to larger instruments as young learners grow.
Calliope Music’s rental program doesn’t lock you into a contract. You can return your rental instrument at any time without penalty. As parents and teachers, we think this is the best way to rent an instrument.
Calliope’s instrumental rental program features:
- Rent-to-own contracts
- Competitive prices
- High quality student instruments
- Knowledgeable staff
- Penalty-free returns
- Optional maintenance and repair plan (excluding new strings and reeds), with loaner instruments as necessary
Instrument Repair & Sales
Calliope Music offers instrument repair — from routine maintenance, sticky valves and missing pads, to major refurbishment. We offer free estimates. Please allow about 3 to 4 weeks for repair.
We also sell refurbished instruments. All of Calliope’s sale instruments have been expertly repaired and include a 30-day guarantee. You’re welcome to review our instruments in person [WHERE? HOW?], or we’d be happy to sell and ship directly to you.
Teaching Opportunities
Calliope Music works with music teachers who are dedicated to instilling a lifelong love of music. Please consider applying if you’re a music teacher, an experienced performer, or a current or past music major who lives in the Philadelphia area. Previous teaching experience, while an asset, isn’t mandatory: Calliope’s founders are happy to pass along their experience teaching students.
Teachers enjoy flexible, hourly scheduling. Our teachers visit students’ homes, so reliable transportation is important.
